European broadcasters urged EU antitrust chief Teresa Ribera to designate smart TV platforms (Android TV, Amazon Fire OS, Samsung Tizen OS) and virtual assistants (Alexa, Siri, ChatGPT Tasks) as gatekeepers under the Digital Markets Act, arguing they should be regulated on qualitative criteria even if they don't meet quantitative thresholds.
