Seattle Underground

The Seattle Underground is a network of subterranean passageways in Pioneer Square that were the city's original street level before the 1889 Great Fire. The city later raised its streets, leaving former storefronts and sidewalks below. The area is now a historical tourist attraction offering guided tours.
