Show HN: Project Cherub – TempleOS Fork. Early Build (ISO) & Future Plans
Project Cherub is an early-build fork of TempleOS created by Rubinosław from REParadoxy. It updates the frame rate from 30 to 120 FPS and changes the system name, with future plans to add 32-bit color, SATA AHCI, NVMe, Blu-ray, GPU, and USB support while keeping the 640x480 resolution.
Background
- TempleOS was a hobby operating system created by Terry A. Davis (1969–2018), a programmer with schizophrenia who believed he was building God's temple. It was written entirely in a custom programming language (HolyC), had a 640×480 display, 16-color graphics, and its own file system. Despite its bizarre origin, the technical community respected its sheer engineering ambition — one person wrote everything from the kernel to the compiler.
