Warp Point is a modern take on a "webring"—a concept from the early internet (mid-1990s to early 2000s) where a set of related websites would link to each other in a circular chain, letting visitors "surf" from site to site. Webrings were a common way to discover niche content before search engines and social media dominated. This project specifically curates a collection of independent video game websites—blogs, personal sites, small publications, and fan projects—that are hand-picked for quality and personality, as opposed to algorithm-driven or corporate gaming media. It's a deliberate throwback, emphasizing human curation and community discovery at a time when independent web publishing has seen a resurgence among those nostalgic for or rediscovering the pre-platform internet.
