Cloudflare Drop
Cloudflare Drop is a free, end-to-end encrypted file-sharing service that allows users to send files of up to 10 GB without requiring an account. The service uses the Cloudflare network to transfer files directly between sender and receiver without storing them on Cloudflare's servers.
Background
Cloudflare, the internet infrastructure company best known for its CDN, DDoS protection, and DNS services, announced a feature called **Cloudflare Drop**. It lets anyone host static websites or single-page apps directly on Cloudflare’s global network using a drag-and-drop interface — no command line, no separate hosting service needed. The files are stored on Cloudflare’s edge and served from its own domain, `*.pages.dev`. This is a simpler, free alternative to dedicated static hosting platforms like Netlify, Vercel, or GitHub Pages, and competes directly with Cloudflare's own more technical product, Cloudflare Pages. The key advantage: static sites get the full performance and security of Cloudflare’s edge network automatically. The "Drop" name emphasizes zero setup — just drag a folder into a browser window.
