新しいことに挑戦する一環として、筆者は地元の公園で宝物探しの掘削に挑戦。DigVenturesのプロジェクトに参加し、レスネス修道院の発掘現場で一般市民向けの考古学作業を体験した。日差しの降り注ぐ木曜日、芝生をはがされた区画で工具を手に、安全講習を受けた後、いよいよ発掘が始まる。
